Ashaindra, under what rules is something deemed fair? By what standard are you defining human rights? Who is making these allegations and are they in a position to know the truth of their own claims and are the persons making the claims themselves trustworthy?

Why do you think Americans have an unreasonable fear of " 'terrorists'"?

A fair trial assumes that there are some standards and laws by which you would prosecute these persons, and also assumes that they fall under the jurisdiction and appeal to such laws.

Gitmo--and all it stood for-- was never an issue when it was in Cuba. Out of sight, out of mind. Now that the 'problem' is being relocated to US soil, where Americans have a healthy if unreasonable fear of 'terrorists', suddenly, we have an issue. Terrorists operate on the basis of cells and networks, none of which they have any access to while they are isolated and under guard. So why the paranoia?

Guantanamo Bay was shut down because of allegations of human rights abuses. So bringing the detainees to the US, where they will at least be allowed access to fair trial seems like a decent way to negate the believe that America doesn't completely operate on the basis of 'our way, or the highway'.

This video does a good job of summing up the various viewpoints on the issue -- http://www.newsy.com/videos/gitmo_suspects_to_stand_trial_in_u_s

Comment on Attorney General Eric Holder to Visit Guantanamo by Listen Toit

Just cause you say it, doesn't mean it's true. Mr. Andrew Yu-Jen Wang makes a bunch of statements and backs up none. And the freak thinks he is quotable by copying the SAME LAME statement ad nauseum on every blog he can. Since you love it so much, trying tossing in a fact or three.

I can say that Obama has no legislative success in congress. He stole an election for Senator by having staffers reprint his competitor's divorce proceedings. Then as a Senator-again no legislative success more than half of his brief stay was spent campaigning, and therefore, not even sitting in the Senate chambers. How'd he get the Fulbright scholarship that is only given to foreign born students while he was at Occidental? Why does he preach against the white mother and grandmother that sacrificed to raise him, but praise the Arab Muslim father that abandoned him to become an insurgent in Kenya. He should have written a book that says, "Things I should have learned from my absentee Muslim Arab father whose family ancestors sold and owned African slaves". Again, they are the facts.
I can say factually that Eric Holder made money from a law firm that defended terrorists. Those terrorists are now prisoners at Gitmo. President Bush never interrogated, nor tortured one terrorist, yet many of these prisoners were found to have aided and abetted the enemy that hijacked planes and used them to kill Americans on our soil. They were also found to have forwarded information and inflamed the passions of more to conduct more terroristic activities. Andrew Yu-Jen Wang needs to stick to the facts, such as career prosecutors that could have made a name for themselves career wise could find only 1 conviction out of 20 instances where officers appeared to have acted beyond their existing legal authorities. Now Holder wants double jeopardy for all involved. Tried once, he wants them to be investigated to be tried again. Then perhaps his old law firm can go for suing for unlawful imprisonment for its clients. $$$ Makes me nauseous to see a high powered DC law firm defending terrorists, yet that is what make America great. These lawyers get to defend scum, our courts are not responsible to hear their cases because they are prisoners-no habeus corpus, no arraignment and these prisoners are treated lots better than those held by Muslim interrogators that ended up without their heads. America's ability to stand up to tests, to allow freedoms that Andrew Yu-Jen Wang wouldn't dream of in his ancestor's country, much less to speak of a President or Glorious Leader in such terms. And it is my liberty to say Andrew Yu-Jen Wang is a whacked out nut job with not a leg to stand on and has to tell you how smart he was at his 2900 student small private division III school. Those are the facts!

Lt. Col. Cucullu,
I have been attempting to contact you for quite some time to thank you for your service in and out of uniform.

I wish I'd found this site sooner and have begun the fascinating process of scouring through all of your work.

There are a few al Qaeda, Taliban detainees I have long had interest in for my site and hope to find some information on them here....

BO had to wait for his first 100 days to end so that he could complete all the things he promised. He shut down the hearings before he re-opened them. His 180-s will make his swooning press dizzy.
